Charlie One Five Two
From the corners of this country
From the cities and the farms
With years and years of service
Tucked up underneath their arms
They walked away from everything
Just to see freedom’s dream come true
So God bless the troops and the choice
Of Charlie One Five Two
With million dollar spirits
Flying choppers near and far
They arrive in time to bring them home
In a mission they call SAR
Cause one time someone told them
Of a friend of a friend they knew
Who owes his life you know
To Charlie One Five Two
Now some were born to money
They never had to say, Survive
And others have swung a 9 pound hammer
Just to stay alive
There’s cowboys, techs, and Christians
Mostly white and black and blue
They’ve all dialed the phone collect to home
From Charlie One Five Two
Ah, but one night under some foreign moon
Where freedom’s never rung
Like a miracle those golden words
“Arctic Dustoff” roll off someone’s tongue.
And through their tears they see something
They’re all looking right at you
And for awhile they’ll go in style
With Charlie One Five Two
They look so uneventful,
So quiet and discreet,
But a lot lives were saved out there
By their heroic feats.
‘Cause they walked away from everything
Just to see freedom’s dream come true
So god bless the troops and the choice
Of Charlie One Five Two
From the corners of this country
From the cities and the farms
With years and years of service
Tucked up underneath their arms
